Flat Bread and Hummus

Flatbread with Hummus and Harissa Chicken

Home made flat bread and hummus is something that I find really comforting to eat. I first fell in love with hummus on a trip to Israel and I haven’t looked back since then.

It’s one food that makes me feel like I could be vegetarian but I often make it a more filling meal by adding grilled chicken or Pork belly slices.

Here’s my simple recipe for yoghurt flat bread

Yoghurt Flat bread

300g of white flour

1/2 tsp of sea salt

260g of coconut yoghurt

40g of butter

Method

  • Place all ingredients into a bowl, mix with a wooden spatula until it comes together

  • Once it comes together, place on a floured surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth

  • Place in a bowl, cover and leave to rest for 30 - 45 minutes

To Cook

  • Place a non stick pan on a medium heat

  • Roll out a small portion of dough to fit the base of the pan

  • Place on the hot pan (you can brush with olive oil or melted butter)

To Serve

  • Zaatar dip - Add a tablespoon of spice to 30ml of olive oil

  • Suya Spice dip - Add a tablespoon of suya spice to 30 ml of olive oil

  • Grilled Meat, roasted vegetables - carrots, pickled carrots

  • Hummus - see my Hummus recipe
